On 1 June 2020, Captain Brian G. Schorn, USN, assumed responsibility as Project Director Joint Bombs (PD JB) replacing Colonel Brad Tannehill, USAF. Captain Schorn leads a group of 20 professionals in achieving cost, schedule and performance goals for Air Force, Navy and Army configuration-managed products.
Captain Schorn also is the Director of the Office of the Executive Director for Conventional Ammunition (EDCA) and is responsible for assisting the EDCA in the oversight and assessment of the SMCA enterprise.
Prior to his JPEO Armaments & Ammunition assignment, Captain Schorn served as Logistics Operations Branch Chief, Logistics Directorate, U.S. Strategic Command, Offutt Air Force Base, NE. Captain Schorn earned his Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering from Carnegie Mellon University, Pittsburgh, PA and a Master of Science Degree in Operational Research/Logistics from the Naval Postgraduate School, Monterey, CA. He also received a Master of Science Degree in National Resource Strategy from the Industrial College of the Armed Forces, National Defense University, Washington, D.C. In May 2015 he completed the Senior Executive Fellows Program at the John F. Kennedy School of Government, Harvard University. Captain Schorn is qualified as a Surface Warfare Supply Corps Officer with over 27 years of active duty service.
