Army breaks ground on state-of-the-art ammunition plant in Iowa

MIDDLETOWN, Iowa — MIDDLETOWN, Iowa — On July 15, the U.S. Army marked a significant milestone in its modernization efforts by breaking ground on a new 155mm ammunition production facility at the Iowa Army Ammunition Plant. The ceremony, attended by local officials and Iowa Governor Kim Reynolds, officially launched the construction of the Future Artillery Complex, a multi-million-dollar expansion and modernization of the Army’s artillery production industrial base.

Army activates new command for ammunition and energetics production

PICATINNY ARSENAL, N.J. — PICATINNY ARSENAL, N.J. – The U.S. Army has established the Capability Program Executive for Ammunition and Energetics (CPE A&E) at Picatinny Arsenal, under the command of Col. Jason Bohannon. The new CPE was formerly the Joint Program Executive Office for Armaments and Ammunition (JPEO A&A). The move is a key part of broader Continuous Transformation efforts intended to increase efficiency and accelerate the delivery of critical capabilities to the warfighter.
